It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...at the CRC!

Decorating for the season has begun at the Campus Religious Center.  The sparkling lights through the window at night give a warm and welcoming feel.  We hope you stop on by to spend some time with us before the season passes by.

Thank you to Elaina, Moses and Nate for all the work they did!  Our continued "Thank YOU" to our tree donors:  Cindy, Ann and Katie!

Thanksgiving Dinner

On Thursday, November 25, 2021, a to-go traditional Thanksgiving Dinner was prepared for the students on campus who pre-ordered their meals.  57 meals were sent out.

Our 6th annual meal was a collaborative effort between Catholic Campus Ministries/Newman Club, parishioners of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, and businesses in the community to ensure we had enough supplies to prepare the meal as well as a few extras to send home with the students.  This year, the Walnut Grove Mercantile provided pumpkin pie fudge as a little something extra.

Our special "Thank YOU!" to the students who helped with preparation and the volunteers who helped on Thanksgiving Day to make sure the meals made it out, hot and fresh, to the students.

Mark S. Doss and Reed Tetzloff Perform

After a year-hiatus from working with Dr. Daniel Rieppel and his marvelous concerts, music returned to the Campus Religious Center on Monday, November 15, 2021.  World-renowned artists Mark S. Doss and Reed Tetzloff filled the Chapel with the powerful chords of Beethoven.  It was an amazing event, and we were so glad to be a part of it again.

Thank you to Dr. Daniel Rieppel for coordinating, and Mark S. Doss and Reed Tetzloff for sharing your talents with our community.

November Game Night at the CRC

On Saturday, November 13, the Campus Religious Center was open for a Game Night!  We had students who came in to make snacks (Thanks, Nate and Moses!) and more students who came for the games.  It was a night filled with fun and a little too much food!  Special "Thank YOU" to Dealyn and Chris for hosting!

Family Weekend

The Campus Religious Center was opened up on the Saturday of Family Weekend for a Dessert Bar, sponsored by the Catholic 'Stangs and LuMIN.  It was a good opportunity for the students and families to see the Campus Religious Center, learn about what is offered here, or introduce families to the people they have begun forming friendships with through ministry activities.

Thank you to the community members who provided the goodies for the day!  They were enjoyed by all who stopped by.

Welcome Grill Out

On Tuesday, August 31, the Campus Religious Center hosted their annual Fall grill out.  More than 60 people came together over the course of the evening for food, fellowship and fun.

Thank you to the Catholic 'Stangs leadership team for their setup and cleanup.  Nate, Carter, Moses and Levi, we couldn't have done it without you!

We would also like to thank the Lutheran Campus Ministry Board (Caroline, Pastor Chuck, Dealyn and Shanda) and Holy Redeemer Parishioners (Rich and Pam, Dean and Doreen, with Brylee and Adison, and Father Tony).  Support from our community is an integral component to meeting the spiritual needs of our student body.

Ecumenical Opening Prayer Service

We celebrated our first Ecumenical Prayer Service at the Campus Religious Center this week.  It has been many years since we have had this happen.  It was a welcome  opportunity to come together and celebrate our common ground.

Our sincere thanks to all who made this ecumenical celebration possible.  We would especially like to thank Father Anthony J. Stubeda, Pastor Chuck Swanson, and Pastor Lyle Snyder for their leadership in the service, Chris and Amanda Sieling for their service of music, Moses Dolan for lectoring, Dealyn Rose for hosting, and the students who form our Campus Religious Center Community on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University.
